Validation Through In-House Magnetic Testing
One of the biggest challenges engineers encounter is not knowing whether they can trust a new material. That’s why Horizon doesn’t just process SMCs but also helps to validate them. We process toroid samples just as your parts will be processed from every material we work with. We wind them in house with copper wire and test them on our magnetic hysteresis graph across a range of frequencies. This allows us to generate both AC and DC magnetic curves, generating data that includes permeability, coercivity, saturation, and core loss data under simulated operating conditions.
By validating material performance before you commit to tooling, we help to de-risk your development process and shorten timelines with solid, application-relevant magnetic data. Our in-house testing increases confidence in both soft magnetic materials and the repeatability of the manufacturing process, which is especially critical for high performance alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) applications. As one of the few manufacturers offering this level of magnetic testing in house, we give you a unique edge in speed, certainty, and design assurance.
